Thankfully exams are now a memory of the past. Got my results back and my subjects approved for next year so all is well! Did better than I expected which is always a pleasant surprise! I guess I'm looking forward to next year but at the same time so thankful that it is holidays! The first few weeks have flown past already! Haven't done anything incredibly exciting. Been busy catching up with friends who I haven't seen for a while, shopping, getting ready for the festive season.
Finally had some more time to catch up on football games and actually stay up and watch Chelsea play. Although they are going through a tough time at the moment so its depressing. :( Really hopefully we can get out of our slump soon. The Champions league loss was unfortunate as was the draw with Everton. I really thought that was our moment of turning things around. However the season is far from over and Arsenal don't have a large lead so its not all lost. I'm really nervous about the upcoming game with Tottenham. They are a good team but I am hopeful we can win!
Movie wise I've started on some Christmas movies- Home Alone and Nativity! so far. Nativity! is a great Christmas movie! Lots of fun and the children are absolutely adorable! Will be watching a Colbert Christmas soon too! Can't forget about Love Actually and the Bridget Jone's Movies (I am one of those people that loves both movies.) Also watched The Social Network which I enjoyed but didn't think it was the best movie of the year. Maybe there was too much hype around it by the time I got a chance to see it. Also saw Harry Potter at imax on opening day. It was terrific! Probably my favourite movie of all of them. Lots of sad moments but they did a great job including funny moments too to balance things out. I cannot wait for the next one. Although it really made it feel real that the series is ending. :(
Tv wise I've been trying to catch up on some shows. Castle is the most recent one. Need to get onto catching up on Chuck and watch Downton Abbey and Broadwalk Empire. Been watching Misfits, Outnumbered and Gavin and Stacy as well. Other than that I tend to just always watch BBC News or CNN. I cannot get enough of the news, definitely my favourite channels!
I was going to write about what I've been reading recently but this post is getting ridiculously long.
More posts coming soon!

My Life..
at the moment revolves around my Nixon research essay and studying for exams.
Although I genuinely enjoy reading these books and plan on keeping them after the essay is done so I can read them in more detail beyond the pretty specific topic my essay is on.
Although things are annoying at the moment because I have caught a cold and have had the joy of going to the doctor's twice this week. :(
So today was the Mid Term elections and I am not pleased. Very disappointed to see the Republicans make such gains however it is not surprising. Not looking forward to John Boehner as the next speaker of the House... It will be interesting to see where things go from here.
Back I go to my revision!

Bringing Back the Blog
Hello!
I am back after a LONG absence. Life has been pretty hectic and full on. I've had a blog to do for uni and all this other uni stuff which has resulted in neglect of this blog.
I'm also not sure about the 'direction' of this blog. I guess it is a 'life' blog, so basically I will be posting about whatever.
This is the final week of uni and then I have essays and exams until November 17th so there probably won't be much updates until then. I'm hoping to do a complete overhaul of the layout and everything in the near future as well.
For now I shall leave you with some random photos of things I have bought recently. :)

Write The Future
It is absolutely epic.
One of my favourite ads of all time.
Desperately need to hunt down some of the t-shirts!
Also currently watching the Slovenia v USA game. ( I wasn't going to, planned to re-listen to a lecture on fascism. C'mon Slovenia, hold your lead PLEASE :D
Wavin' Flag
I didn't really like it when I first heard it but after a couple more listens I absolutely fell in love with this song. Incredibly awesome!
Absolutely love the Roger Milla ad for Coca Cola that uses the song as well!
I LOVE EPIC CELEBRATIONS. :D
There seems to be a moat thing of sorts this year that a few players have had some close calls with. The Serbian goal scorer seemed to disappear into it as well? and someone else nearly fell in, hmmm
WAKA WAKA
I was not a fan of it at first and the images of Italy winning make me sad still but I have been converted to the song since. Thumbs up! Although it doesn't say much because I pretty much adore anything and everything associated with the world cup.
World Cup
Finally it is here! Words cannot do justice to how much I love football so I wouldn't try to put it into words.
Needless to say, my life basically revolves around the world cup at the moment which means incredibly late nights and waking up at 4am in the morning to watch games.
I am a die hard Socceroos supporter. It shouldn't be a surprise. Again no words for how much I love them. So Monday was an absolutely horrific and traumatic experience. Not sure if I would classify it as worse than the game against Italy in 2006. I think they are on an equal footing and hence will never be mentioned again.
As for other teams I support? Well I guess since Poland did not get in and I would only support them out of patriotism, England is my number 2. Absolutely in love with this song! It is constantly on replay.
Other than that I really like Brazil and against the odds this world cup has made me a fan of Argentina and Spain.
Favourite players? Obviously all the Australians. I don't think I can choose a favourite out of them. I love Kaka. I've also found I quite like Messi, Torres and even Ranaldo which is absolutely shocking for me. I've always been very anti-Ranaldo so I have no idea what has happened. =/
On top of this, it is currently exam time. So irritating. Luckily they are relatively spread out and I have high scores from assessments throughout the semester and the exams aren't hurdle recs for passing the subject. Also for my final exam on the 24th we already have a copy of it. Gotta love our professor for giving it to us!
So many things to organise and do on holidays! Cannot wait for them to officially start! More posting will hopefully finally eventuate!
Until then, take care.
LETS ALL HOPE FOR SOCCEROO VICTORIES AGAINST GHANA AND SERBIA!

LOST Forever
Lost ends forever tomorrow.
I can't believe the end is here. I've loved this show since the day the pilot aired. We went through a bit of a rough patch during season three but everything was sorted out before season four started. From then on I loved the show more than ever.
I don't think I'll ever as invested in a show as I was with Lost. It was just incredible.
It's a shame that 7 treated it so badly and refused to air it at a consistent time. They aren't even airing the finale tomorrow, instead they are showing it on Wednesday. Disgraceful. Especially since a number of countries are airing it live to coincide with the US airing.
On the topic of awesome Lost things, this t-shirt is SO COOL.
Definitely getting one!
http://teefury.com/
It's only available for 24 hours and there's about 17 hours left, so get in quick if you want one!
Finally tracked down the Lost Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday. I was hoping to get the Ben and Jack covers but they seem to only have had the general covers here in Aust. Awesome issue!
Well this week is the final week of semester for uni before exams and holidays. It has gone ridiculously fast. It will be good to have a break and it will be soccer world cup time soon, which I cannot wait for! I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before but soccer is my absolute favourite sport.
At the same time, its a shame because I've really enjoyed this semester. I love uni!
Movie review post coming soon! Including Iron Man 2 and Kick Ass.

Lady Gaga
So the concert was a few weeks ago but I thought I'd just share some pictures. I was going to do a post about something more topical but I haven't really taken any interesting pictures or done anything overly exciting lately.
The past week was incredibly busy and included two VERY late nights. Tuesday night I had about 2 hours of sleep and Thursday night I was up till 6 am. Not very fun but I have discovered that I actually don't feel that tired after staying up incredibly late and only getting a bit of sleep. It's when I actually get more sleep the next night I feel more tired. It doesn't make sense.
Early hours of Friday night the third UK Leaders debate took place. I am so annoyed I haven't been able to watch them all in full. Saw parts of the third because I needed to get at least a bit of sleep before uni.
Anyway now I only have one more major essay due in two weeks for uni and life is pretty spectacular!
Hopefully I'll have more time now to post about more interesting things than how busy I am at uni or whatever.
Anyway, onto the Lady Gaga pictures! Our seats were great but my camera really isn't. I've been meaning to upgrade to an SLR or DSLR or whatever they are called (Clearly I am not a camera expert, hence the procrastination in getting a better one) but keep getting overwhelmed with all the options and how complicated they look. One day soon though! Any recommendations?
Now finally, I present some pictures from the 3rd Melbourne concert!
I'm thinking it's time for a revamp of the blog's layout. The header is a pretty poor reflection of my current book collection which seems to be growing at an unstoppable pace and the blog looks a bit plain and boring.
Take care

Notice the pepsi cans in the corner of the picture. The guy in front was all dressed up and inspired by the Telephone video. There was a number of people dressed up including some mature ladies and gentleman. Good on them. Although the amount of people in leggings as pants was truly distressing. I was also surprised at the number of young children there unsupervised. Not sure why parents would think it appropriate for them to attend. They should stick to Dora the Explorer, the Wiggles, Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers imo.

Neglect
Hey Everyone!
It is ridicilous how neglected this blog has become! I am extremely sorry! Life has just been ridiculously busy! Since I've past posted I've been at uni for over a month. I have to say I absolutely adore it. It is awesome!
One complaint, I wish more of my friends had the same lunch hours as me! Everyone is always soo busy and there is just so much going on. The amount of stuff I want to get involved in etc and don't have time to is crazy! Although its not as stressful and irritating as High School. I guess I miss aspects of it, mainly seeing friends on a daily basis, but uni is so much better!
What else have I been doing? Besides uni and all that (which is taking up a lot of my time), shopping, catching up with friends, going out etc. All in all, life is wonderful!
I've noticed the amount of visitors I get seems to have gone up but I don't have comments. So please if your reading, HELLO and please leave a comment. It would mean so much to me!
Uni in the city has meant my addiction to shopping has insanely increased. Everything is just so close by and easy to pop in to.
The next couple of weeks are shaping up to be pretty busy with my next set of assessments due! Spent like 3 hours in the library yesterday looking for books. Got lost trying to find the Eco and Commerce library but got there in the end. I know it's the point, but sometimes the library is so eerily quiet it's disconcerting.
Hmm what other exciting stuff has been happening? I started reading Perfume the other day, not sure how I feel about it yet. Have to get started on Pride and Prejudice, Great Expectations and Jane Eyre for Lit asap though. Watched part of Amelie last night, wonderful so far. Up until now I'd only seen fragments. Went and saw Micmacs with a friend at Cinema Nova. Liked it but I expected it to be different somehow, I don't know?
I always feel weird when I go to Cinema Nova, Palace or even Cinema Europa because I end up being the youngest person there. The majority of people today were pensioners. I can't help my taste in movies though! Not to mention, I much prefer the atmosphere of those cinemas to the chains.
Hope everyone is well. Take care!
PLEASE comment and I will try and post again soon xo

Oscar Preditions!
Well the ceremony is about to begin so it's about time I posted my predictions.
The chanel 9 coverage is just horrific. Times like these I really need foxtel.
Well onto my picks:
Actor in a Leading Role
Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart”
George Clooney in “Up in the Air”
Colin Firth in “A Single Man”
Morgan Freeman in “Invictus”
Jeremy Renner in “The Hurt Locker”
Absolutely love Jeff Bridges and his performance was amazing! Colin Firth was also terrific but there doesn't seen to be much chance of him winning unfortunately.
Actor in a Supporting Role
Matt Damon in “Invictus”
Woody Harrelson in “The Messenger”
Christopher Plummer in “The Last Station”
Stanley Tucci in “The Lovely Bones”
Christoph Waltz in “Inglourious Basterds”
This needs no explanation imo.
I still haven't seen The Blind Side! While Sandra will probably win I adored Carey in 'An Education'. Have only see 2 of the films though!
Mon'Nique surprised me with her performance. I remember her promoting Phat Girls or whatever it was called a few years back. Can't believe it's the same person. I personally thought Maggie gave a terrific and very convincing performance in 'Crazy Heart'. Whilst both Anna and Vera were great, I don't think there was anything extremely standout or award worthy in Up in the Air. I was disappointed by the film.
I really disliked the film but it was stunning.
Got to go with IB, love that movie.
Really hope Kathryn wins! Although secretly I would love Tarantino to win.
Haven't seen any.
I would love it if IB won but I really hope it's the Hurt Locker. I will be livid if Avatar wins.

So much...
for the return to proper blogging!
I have no idea where the time is going. The last week of holidays was meant to be a relatively quiet and relaxing one but it ended up a very busy one, which unfortunately has left me without much time to blog.
Monday I had High Achievers at school and went to a Crazy Heart advance screening at Hoyts Melbourne Central. My first time ever at those cinemas. I have been avoiding them. They just never really appealed to me. They seem so 'dark' and I don't know. Turns out I quite liked them. On the topic of cinemas I don't think I actually have a favourite. I love Palace Cinemas especially Como and Kino and of course Cinema Nova! I also quite like Hoyts Chadstone and Village at Crown, Knox, Southland and so forth. As if it wasn't obvious already, I am obsessed with movies.
Tuesday had to head to Chadstone to pick up something. Not a very eventful day but busy.
Wednesday caught up with some friends and we went to Chadstone (again). It seems like I'm always either there or in the cbd. I'm not complaining though :D. Went to Lindt. I had an ice chocolate there for the first time. I prefer the hot chocolate.Went there on Tuesday and had my favourite!
Thursday spent the day hanging out with one of my best friends! Saw Shutter Island. Amazing film. Avoid all spoilers if you plan on seeing it! It's inspired me to check out more Martin Scorsese films!
Friday spent the day hanging out again with another close friend. Watched Valentine's Day. I prefer Love Actually and He's Just Not That Into You but I still enjoyed it! It was an entertaining film :)
Spent part of the weekend catching up on all the episodes of the Good Wife. Such an amazing show!
Tuesday is the start of O Week at Uni!! I'm a bit nervous but really excited!!
There's also going to be a third Lady Gaga concert in Melbourne, thank goodness! Wish me luck getting tickets! :D

Avatar Review
Finally I am doing my Avatar review. I have no idea since I saw it around three weeks ago! I was never keen or interested in seeing it. Blue creatures on a distant plant did not sound like my idea of a quality film. I convinced myself I wouldn't bother. However watching the Golden Globes and seeing James Cameron win both Best Director and Avatar win Best Film, I decided I needed to see it so I could see if it lived up to the hype and was really worthy of the acclaim.
For the record I believe Kathryn Bigelow or Quentin Tarantino deserved those awards.
Plainly put, I did not enjoy Avatar. Sure it was an alright film but then again I went in with extremely low expectations. It was far too long. Long run times have never bothered me in the past. With Avatar I found myself wishing for things to hurry up. I didn't find any of the characters particularly engaging and just didn't care about any of them. The storyline and script were extremely lacking. A lot of people have been comparing it to Pocahontas.
Everyone spoke about 'revolutionary' 3D technology and whilst it was a visually stunning film I expected more from the 3D. Maybe I was expecting too much?
Regardless it wasn't a horrible film but just ok. I would give it 3 stars of out 5.

Sonia Rykiel for H&M
The collection can be seen here: http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/favourites-of-vogue/100210-sonia-rykiel-for-hm/gallery.aspx#
My favourite is:
Such a shame that H&M isn't available in Australia. Although if it was I think it would become one of those common place labels that everyone would own and it would not be as appealing to people. Who knows?

Miss Marple's Tea Room + Eiffel Tower Canvas Print
I had been meaning to visit Miss Marple's Tea Room for quite a while. However whenever I was in the area I never stopped by because it would always be filled with people and there usually was a line outside. I found myself in the area on Sunday and thought it's about time I checked the place out. I've heard numerous recommendations and I am happy to say they were all spot on!
I originally intended to try the waffles but by the time we got there they had stopped serving them. Instead Dad and I had the scones and Mum had the bread and butter pudding. Unfortunately I didn't take any photos! Next time :)
Usually I don't like scones but I absolutely adored these. Definitely the best scones I have ever tasted!
Can't wait to go back soon and have them again and also try the waffles! I wonder if the waffles are better than the Lindt cafe ones? Those and the ones from Waffle On in Degraves St.

Also stopped by Tea Leaves which is like next door. http://www.tealeaves.com.au/
That place is amazing! So many teas, coffees, tea pots, mugs. They have everything!
Now onto the Eiffel Tower!
I picked up this canvas print. There was also a leaning tower of Piza one which I now regret not getting. Will definitely have to go back and get it!

I am slowing going to be working my way through a back log of posts I have been intending on doing but haven't had a chance to get to including a bunch of film reviews and posts on things I like. I have also been meaning to do some fashion ones but I shouldn't try and get ahead of myself too much.
Also I can't believe how fast these holidays have gone! I only have about a week and a bit of holidays before O Week at uni and then I start on March 1st =0

Returning to normal soon!
Yes, I know I said I'd be back to updating soon but things have just been getting in the way. Been busy running various errands in the city, catching up with friends before uni commences, watching movies and attempting to see as many Oscar nominees before the ceremony as I can! Also saw Jersey Boys on Wednesday night. Absolutely amazing! If you haven't been you absolutely should! I was a bit skeptical as to whether I'd enjoy it however everyone I spoke to loved it and I did too :).
This upcoming week will hopefully be less hectic and it will hopefully give me a chance to catch up on blogging about various things including a bunch of movie reviews and things!
Bare with me! :)

I Love Awards Season!
Just watched the Oscar nominations announcement!
I absolutely ADORE awards season and have been looking forward to this for ages!
The nominations are up and can be found here for anyone who is interested: http://oscar.go.com/nominations/nominees
I will do a proper post tomorrow on my thoughts on the various categories and nominations since it's currently 1am and I am close to falling asleep at the keyboard.
Also apologies for the lack of blogging, life has been a bit insane!
More to come soon!

What I'm currently listening to:
I can't wait to see Crazy Heart! I've been looking forward to it since I first heard about it a couple of months ago. I'm ecstatic Jeff Bridges has been winning awards all over the place for Best Actor in this movie. Fingers crossed he gets an Oscar as well!
The whole soundtrack is wonderful but 'The Weary Kind' is what captured my interest in the music after hearing it on the trailer. Hopefully it scores Best Original Song as well!
Terrific soundtrack to an amazing movie! I never expected to love it as much as I did. Definitely one of my favourites of 2009. Now I really want to watch Tarantino's other films!
Although all other tv and movie watching is on hold until Feb 2nd when the sixth and final season of LOST premieres. I'd been planning to rewatch all the episodes before it started. Yet here I am with about 8 days until the new season and I am still watching season 1, YIKES!
I'm not giving up though and hopefully I'll at least make it to season 3 before it comes back!

Melbourne Uni
This is where I'm going this year! I've know since results came out in December so I wasn't nervous or worried about offers. I've known probably since year 9 that this is where I wanted to be. I also have a Scholarship for Melbourne Uni.
I'm so excited but terrified at the same time. High school and all that is well and truly over.

Burberry Trench
Seeing Roger Federer
I spent Thursday in the city and by chance around 5 happened to be on Collins St. There was a bit of a crowd outside Lindt and a channel 9 van so I figured something was happening. I thought it might have had something to do with the person being arrested on the other side of the street.
However then I recalled seeing something in Lindt the last time I was there about a competition to meet Roger. So I decided to stick around for a bit and see if we could spot him. He came a little after 5 and was directly in front of me! It was really exciting! I got a few pictures on my iphone but they are pretty dismal. I knew I should have taken my proper camera with me!
I've been a tennis fan for a long time. I used to play and have lessons every week. Although school via accelerated maths after school got in the way and I had to give it up. I can't remember the last time I played :(. I'm hopeful I'll go back to it sometime soon though!
Anway, onto the bad pictures I managed to take on my iphone. The bottom ones are from the shoe store next there. Mum wanted to go in there anyway. There was a whole bunch of people at the window taking pictures!

Diva Buys
Today whilst out on a random trip to the shops I stopped by diva to see if they had any interesting rings.
I ended up with 2 and some earrings!
Apologies for the bad pictures, they were taken on my iphone.

New Books!
My most recent book purchases from Borders over the weekend!
I'd been wanting Wolf Hall for months after reading a review of it in the A2 feature of the Age before it won the Man Booker prize and everything.
Likewise with Sherlock Holmes.
Fantastic Mr Fox I wanted so I could read before seeing the movie since I never read it in my childhood. I'm enjoying it so far!
The hardcover penguins were further editions to my collection of Penguin Hardcovers. I think I have almost all of them now :)

Tumblr
So I finally got a Tumblr. I found it a bit weird to use at first and still do a bit.
Although I think I'm getting the hang of it now :)
It's here: http://dreamswept.tumblr.com/ if your interested in checking out the random things I post.

Sorry for the lack of updates!
Been busy with a multitude of events including multiple birthdays (including my 18th :D) and other occasions.
Melbourne's weather has not been helping matters either. All I've been doing is lying around watching tv and reading.
Last night was the hottest in 100 years! That is absolutely crazy!
Will be updating soon though!

Alice In Wonderland.
Alice in Mad Men
Amazing!
I am currently reading Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. I can't believe I haven't read it before. So far so good. I watched the Disney movie when I was young and always liked it but it was never a favourite. That honour goes to Beauty and the Beast and the Aristocats!
And I can't forget the upcoming Tim Burton directed Alice in Wonderland. I've never been a huge fan of his and am not sure how I feel about the upcoming movie. Visually it looks pretty amazing but it seems to deviate too far from the original for my liking. I will reserve my opinion until I see it. Pretty excited to see it in 3D!

Cinema 2009
I'm not sure if it shows, but I am obsessed with movies!
Absolutely LOVE them!
I came across these videos on 2009 in cinema. Amazing! It was a good year.
WARNING: Spoilers!
Unfortunately I saw no where near enough movies in 2009. I hope to rectify that in 2010!
Another thing I love about the start of the new year is awards season! I can't wait for the oscar nominations and of course the Golden Globes and SAGS!
Hope everyone is having a good 2010 so far! :)
One week until my 18th! Supposedly it's meant to be 38 degrees, yikes! :S
